Job summary
Wild West Systems, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded software for autonomous drones and munitions. You will work on STM32-based platforms covering flight control, perception, and mission planning, with a focus on real-time performance and reliable interfaces.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field, 3+ years of firmware experience, and Rust development. On-site Leander, TX, with opportunities to deploy critical systems in a defense-focused startup.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional firmware engineering experience.
- Solid mechatronics background.
- Experience developing production-quality firmware in Rust.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded systems on STM32 microcontrollers.
- Low level driver development, peripherals, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN) and real-time systems design.
- Work at the intersection of electronics, sensors, actuators, motor control and embedded software.
