Job summary

Teradyne in Agoura Hills, CA, seeks a Software Engineer focused on compute test automation for ATE platforms. You will design and maintain software components across embedded, diagnostic, and automation layers, collaborating with hardware, systems, and product teams to ensure high-quality, reliable solutions.

You will participate in all software lifecycle stages, perform unit testing, and mentor junior engineers, while documenting architectures and contributing to tooling improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience designing high-performing C# and C++ software solutions in Windows and Linux.
• Experience implementing software that directly interacts with hardware, including FPGAs and ASICs.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems, device drivers, and hardware/software interaction.
• Experience debugging system- and board-level modules with hardware engineers.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale software systems, preferably in a hardware/software integrated environment.
• CI/CD processes, version control, and agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Polarion for software development and testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software components for ATE platforms, including embedded systems, diagnostic tools, and automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and support.
• Conduct unit testing, code reviews, and debugging to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and issue resolution to internal and external customers.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
• Prepare clear technical documentation for software, architectures, and processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
