Job summary

Guidewire is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Application Platform team, building our next-generation services that power insurer applications. You’ll focus on backend platforms, with occasional work on infrastructure and frontend, and use AI coding tools to accelerate development.

This senior, onsite role emphasizes quality, scalability, security, and operational excellence within the PDO organization as we accelerate cloud adoption and deliver measurable value to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering with system design and platform services.
• Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience building APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of the application platform focusing on backend services.
• Apply agentic coding tools to accelerate development.
• Engineer for quality, scalability, availability, and security across the platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable platform operations.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, promoting continuous improvement.
