Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Marlborough, MA is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our ATS-SED team developing and supporting air traffic control software. You will contribute to design, integration, and testing across the lifecycle, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable, safety-critical software for national and international customers.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Experience developing, integrating, testing and validating software components in an Unix/Linux environment
• Experience with the complete software development lifecycle using C/C++
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• Experience with Agile methodologies and GIT
• Experience in software testing or debugging source code
• Experience with containerization technologies ( ex. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• You will develop and maintain software packaged into our ATMS products
• You will maintain documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED’s high maturity level software engineering standards and processes
• You will participate in the agile process including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, back log grooming and story pointing
• You will work with an integrated engineering team in a highly collaborative environment, requiring frequent multi-level communication with engineering team members, program management and external stakeholders
