Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for AWS GuardDuty in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on building large-scale, distributed security analytics and ML-enabled detection systems for threat detection across AWS services.

You will work with scientists and security researchers to deploy scalable analytics and maintain operational excellence in a customer-facing environment with periodic on-call duties.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications and services.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Mathematics or related field.
• Experience programming in at least one language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed security detection systems.
• Extend GuardDuty’s capabilities by analyzing billions of API calls daily.
• Collaborate with scientists to translate research into production systems.
• Drive full software development lifecycle from scoping to on-call support.
• Conduct design and code reviews focusing on architecture and performance.
• Operate in a highly available, customer-facing environment with on-call duties.
