Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle seeks a senior software engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale security detection systems for GuardDuty.

You will work with applied scientists and security researchers to translate research into production-grade analytics and ML-powered defenses at AWS scale. You will participate in the full SDLC, review designs, and help maintain highly available services with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of scalable systems.
• 1+ years developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Mathematics or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one language such as C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale, distributed security detection systems.
• Extend GuardDuty capabilities in the CloudTrail Audit Logs domain analyzing billions of API calls daily.
• Collaborate with applied scientists and researchers to turn research into production systems.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle from scoping to deployment and operation.
• Conduct design and code reviews focusing on architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Operate in a customer-facing environment with on-call responsibilities and ensure operational excellence.
