Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead and scale critical AI security services across the AWS ecosystem. You will own architecture, drive best practices, mentor engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and performant solutions.

This role demands a deep hands-on background, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex problems into simple, robust designs while delivering at pace in a high-ambition environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Building a massively scalable global security service for Amazon services.
• Owning best practices for the software development lifecycle used by junior engineers, including its design, implementation, testing, and operational characteristics.
• Working as part of cross-functional teams to develop secure solutions for our customers.
• Owning the technology stack for one of the most secure and reliable services in all of Amazon.
• Serve as a technical lead on demanding cross-functional projects.
• Ensure the quality of architecture and design of systems.
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
• Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations.
