Job summary

Amazon OpenSearch Service is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help solve technical challenges in distributed systems, data ingestion, and search infrastructure. You will design, develop and deploy reliable cloud-native services across AWS regions, using Java and Rust alongside Python, Golang and AWS-native tools.

You will build features for high availability, data processing and multi-tenant infrastructure, tackling complex problems from control plane APIs to data plane performance

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support high throughput, highly available, distributed, multi-tenant, cloud native systems.
• Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Rust.
• Leading development and maintenance of key system features for Amazon OpenSearch Service
• Designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Work on challenging problems in areas such as data ingestion, auto-scaling, data storage, search optimization and query optimization, security, machine learning and more
• Identify and advocate for operational improvements, reducing maintenance and development cost
