Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for CoStar Suite in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on building an enterprise-scale web app infused with AI, using React, Node.js, and cloud-native services.

You will shape AI-first engineering workflows, mentor teams, and influence technology strategy in a hybrid on-site role with remote Fridays. Base salary ranges from six figures with strong compensation and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of production development experience in modern technologies (React, Vue, TypeScript, NodeJS, C#, .Net).
• Experience designing for high availability, horizontal scalability, and production observability.
• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum processes.
• Experience in unit, performance, and automation testing.
• Experience leveraging AI to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, resilient distributed systems — defining service boundaries, data contracts, and cross-team API standards for an enterprise-scale platform
• Build responsive, high-performance applications using React, Node.js, Tailwind, etc.
• Work with cloud-native services (Azure/AWS/GCP), containers, and microservices
• Optimize for performance, observability, and developer productivity
• Leverage AI Tooling & Automation (CI/CD, code generation, test generation)
• Influence and establish AI-first engineering practice (vibe coding, human-in-the-loop, debugging)
• Establish AI Culture & Mentorship (team upskilling, lifecycle redefinition)
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices
• Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar’s business model / technology
