Job summary

Oliver James Group is partnering with a leading U.S. insurer on a contract opportunity to build an AI-first platform from scratch.

You will own the development of an in-house, greenfield AI-enabled system for underwriting, claims, onboarding, policy administration, and broker portals. You will work with Director of Engineering to turn the AI vision into production-ready solutions, influence architecture, and bring vendor-managed technology in-house to strengthen internal capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong C#/.NET and Python development experience.
• Practical AI experience, including AI-assisted development tools.
• Solid AWS and cloud engineering expertise.
• Experience building scalable applications and contributing to technical architecture.
• Experience working with and leading external vendors.

Senior Software Engineer - AI-First Platform

I'm partnering with a leading U.S. insurance organization on a high-impact contract opportunity. You'll help build an AI-first platform from the ground up, transforming how core insurance processes operate across underwriting, claims, onboarding, policy administration, and broker portals.

The focus isn't maintaining legacy systems, it's building something new. There's a clear mandate to bring technology in-house, develop internal engineering capability, and redefine how AI can transform insurance operations.

What you’ll own

• Building a greenfield AI-first platform from the ground up using C#/.NET, Python, and AWS
• Developing intelligent workflows that transform core insurance processes
• Influencing platform architecture and key technical decisions
• Bringing vendor-managed technology in-house and strengthening internal engineering capability
• Working directly with the Director of Engineering to turn the AI vision into production-ready solutions

What you’ll bring
