Job summary

Vertafore in Denver, CO seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to shape experiences for key customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will work on full-stack web features, mentor developers, and contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities in a regulated industry.

You’ll design, implement, and test software with a focus on quality, security, and performance, while embracing new technologies and guiding architectural discussions. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field.
• 6+ years of professional Python web framework experience (Django or similar).
• 5+ years of experience with RESTful APIs.
• 4+ years of experience with Vue 3 or similar reactive JS framework.
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Experience integrating large language models or generative AI into production apps.
• 3+ years in security best practices for software/data platforms.
• 3+ years in design/architecture/enterprise-scale implementation.
• 3+ years working with database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Work on full-stack web applications spanning frontend and backend.
• Lead and mentor junior developers; provide proactive feedback to leadership.
• Design, architect, and document technical specifications based on business requirements.
• Develop and test AI-enabled product features using Python-based frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Customer Support and Product Management.
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance; participate in code reviews.
