Job summary

TextUs is hiring a senior software role to own end-to-end feature development, from clear specs to production readiness. You will shape how product research translates into concrete engineering work, driving AI-assisted code generation and robust verification processes across the stack.

You will collaborate with product and engineering to ensure tenancy, security, observability, and dependable releases, while mentoring junior engineers and advancing a modern, remote-first development culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software in fast-paced teams.
• Able to translate customer feedback into actionable specs.
• Fluent with Claude Code or equivalent AI tooling.
• Excellent written communication; specs as primary artifacts.
• Experience shipping in Rails or full-stack with frontend/ mobile integrations.
• Ownership of features from problem to production with minimal oversight.
• Bonus: TypeScript, React, React Native, or Chrome extensions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature area from spec to production rollout.
• Translate research and vision into actionable specs.
• Create specs addressing tenancy, auth, rate limits, observability, rollback.
• Define acceptance criteria before code is generated.
• Define UAT scenarios and verification artifacts.
• Oversee codegen loop, know when to rewrite the spec.
• Ensure production health with telemetry and alerts.
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers; pair on spec authorship.
• Collaborate with product and engineering across teams.
