Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement high-quality software across backend and frontend using Java, Kotlin, Go, Dart, TypeScript, and React. You’ll collaborate with product owners and designers in an AI-enabled environment and contribute to scalable cloud-based systems.

The role emphasizes code quality, automated testing, mentoring junior engineers, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant software experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong CS foundation: data structures, algorithms, OOP, and cloud systems.
• Proficiency in Dart, React, TypeScript, Go, Java, or Kotlin.
• Experience debugging complex systems and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience in Agile environments and service-oriented architecture is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Utilize cutting edge AI tooling to accelerate development and enhance platform features.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to understand and refine project requirements.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that follows industry best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Deliver and document technical solutions meeting customer expectations.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and automated tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple service contexts.
• Collaborate with support teams in triaging production issues.
• Participate in product discovery activities with customers and stakeholders.
• Establish KPIs and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach other engineers.
