Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement high-quality software across a modern stack. You’ll work with Java, Kotlin, and Go on the backend and TypeScript, React and Dart on the frontend, embracing AI tooling to accelerate development and add platform features.

You’ll collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to refine requirements, write clean code, participate in reviews, build tests, mentor others, and help drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong foundation in CS, data structures, algorithms, and distributed cloud systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions meeting requirements.
• Utilize AI tooling to accelerate development and enhance platform features.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Write clean, efficient code following industry best practices and standards.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
• Deliver and document technical solutions that meet customer expectations.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and automated tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across services and contexts.
• Collaborate with support teams to triage and resolve production issues.
• Engage in product discovery activities with customers to identify opportunities.
• Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach engineers, guiding their growth.
• Communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
