Job summary

C.H. Robinson Worldwide is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Documents and Customs services within the Global Forwarding division.

This technical leadership role partners with product managers, stakeholders, and leaders to design complex, strategic solutions that delight customers and improve engineering processes. You will mentor engineers and drive AI-assisted development practices in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience across multiple platforms using various programming languages.
8+ years with modern development languages such as .NET Core, C#, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and modern JS frameworks.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools, coding assistants, or agentic workflows.
Ability to review and own AI-assisted output before production use.
Experience with relational databases (MS SQL or Oracle) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Elastic).
Experience with REST APIs and distributed systems, testing practices, and Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

Analyze requirements and translate into detailed technical designs.
Design solutions aligned with long-term strategy for services and platforms.
Define interfaces, data contracts, and integration patterns; write high-quality code.
Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate discovery, design, development, and testing.
Ensure secure, maintainable code and architecturally sound designs.
Lead code reviews and mentor other engineers.
Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
Document architecture, decisions, and operational runbooks.
