Qualifications

8+ years of experience developing and implementing commercial software
Strong experience designing and developing applications in an object-oriented environment (e.g., C#, .NET)
Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, services, and integrations across multiple applications or domains
Experience with database design and development using relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle)
Experience with non-relational databases and modern data-storage patterns
Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing
Experience with testing strategies including unit, integration, and automated testing
Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub)
Experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems across systems/teams
Ability to translate business processes into scalable technical solutions
Strong communication and technical leadership skills
Bachelor’s degree or 6 years of equivalent work experience + high school diploma/GED

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of scalable software solutions that modernize and automate complex workflows across Global Forwarding
Translate ambiguous business problems into durable technical solutions across pricing, planning, booking, and execution
Design and build AI-enabled and agentic solutions to automate repetitive knowledge work
Apply large language models, intelligent agents, and workflow orchestration to real business processes
Develop AI-assisted workflows that interpret unstructured information and take appropriate actions
Establish patterns for reliable enterprise AI including observability and security controls
Experiment rapidly with emerging AI technologies and evolve prototypes into production
Define interfaces and develop code across applications, APIs, services, and data platforms
Partner with product/engineering to understand workflows and identify automation opportunities
Design solutions for high-volume operational environments with resiliency and low-touch execution
Build integrations across interconnected Global Forwarding ecosystem
Provide technical leadership across multi-team initiatives
Increase code quality through reviews, automated testing, and best practices
Optimize and reuse existing capabilities for performance and maintainability
Identify and resolve security, reliability, and performance risks
Write secure software with privacy and governance considerations
Develop and maintain technical documentation and patterns
Estimate software initiatives including dependencies and scope
Stay aware of emerging technologies and value
Mentor engineers through architecture discussions and code reviews
Collaborate to unblock teams and deliver high-quality software
Work across boundaries to evolve a cohesive technology ecosystem
