Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable software across the Global Forwarding platform.

You will mentor engineers, drive AI-enabled automation, and partner with product and business stakeholders to modernize freight planning, pricing, booking, and execution. The role emphasizes production-grade automation, enterprise AI, and collaboration across engineering teams while maintaining security and governance considerations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing and implementing commercial software.
• Strong experience designing and developing applications in an object-oriented environment (C#, .NET).
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, services, and integrations across multiple applications or domains.
• Experience with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) including schema design and performance tuning.
• Experience with non-relational databases and modern data-storage patterns.
• Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with unit, integration, acceptance, and automated testing strategies.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, TFS).
• Experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable software solutions for Global Forwarding.
• Translate business problems into durable technical solutions across pricing, booking, and execution.
• Design AI-enabled solutions to automate knowledge work and decision-making.
• Develop interfaces across applications, APIs, services, and data platforms.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and domains.
• Improve code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices.
• Evolve prototypes into maintainable production capabilities.
