Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its R&D team to take emerging AI capabilities from inception to production in healthcare. You will build the infrastructure to orchestrate sub-agents, experiment with tool calls, and ship production-ready features integrated with healthcare workflows.

The role is hybrid, based in Mountain View or San Francisco, with ownership across research, productization, and customer delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Professional software engineering experience, preferably in a high-growth or startup environment.
• Strong fullstack skills — Python on the backend, JavaScript/React on the frontend, with containers and cloud (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI-powered features in production.
• Track record of driving work from ideation to successful production deployment.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with resourcefulness.
• Strong communication with engineers and non-technical stakeholders, including clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build the infrastructure that orchestrates, evaluates, and runs sub-agents, including channel adapters.
• Get hands-on with chaining tool calls, browser agents, and self-improving harnesses, turning prototypes into production tools.
• Take a technology from first principles to production: research it, build it, ship it, and own it through graduation.
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and clinical experts to ship intuitive solutions for real clinical use.
• Be part of a fast-moving team that ships daily and makes quick decisions.
