Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (EAA) to join the Compliance CXAE team, building AI-first surfaces and tools for efficiency in compliance workflows. You will deliver end-to-end features using Golang and React on AWS/Kubernetes, and guide third-party integrations with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and ensure reliability for high-traffic, mission-critical systems while advancing AI-powered automation in a fast-moving, remote-first

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience developing large-scale systems with Golang and React.
• Experience shipping user-facing features on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, BuildKite or similar).
• Demonstrated experience with third-party vendor integrations, including assessment and implementation.
• Proven track record building large-scale high-traffic platforms with rate limiters, caching, load balancing, and distributed debugging.
• Proficiency in event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with service communication patterns (gRPC, GraphQL, ETL) and architecture decisions.
• Experience working across distributed teams and time zones.
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflow efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end user-facing features using Golang, React and cloud technologies.
• Lead assessment, selection and integration of third-party tools into the compliance platform.
• Drive cross-functional delivery with product, design, security, data and engineering teams.
• Architect platform improvements and reusable capabilities across teams.
• Own reliability for Tier-1 compliance systems and preempt issues.
• Mentor engineers on full-stack design, testing, releases and observability.
