Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build AI-enabled platform capabilities within the Bentley Cloud Platform. The role focuses on resilient services, AI agent integration, and scalable cloud architectures for infrastructure professionals.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of software engineering experience, strong knowledge of C#, .NET Core, and REST APIs, and a passion for delivering high-impact capability beyond routine feature delivery.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience building production-grade software systems.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of designing, delivering, and improving reliable services or products used in production.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and stakeholder groups.
• A rapid learner who can move from ambiguity to clarity, adopt emerging tools quickly, and use AI-enabled workflows to amplify personal and team productivity.
• High ownership mindset: self-directed, collaborative, pragmatic, and motivated to raise the technical bar for the team and platform.
• This role does not require travel
• Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements)

Responsibilities

• Design and build the foundation for AI-enabled forms workflows that translate field data and human decisions into intelligent systems.
• Integrate AI agents into the development lifecycle to boost engineering productivity and delivery.
• Collaborate with a strong agile team to ship reliable cloud platform capabilities quickly and safely.
• Translate customer and product needs into crisp technical requirements, architecture decisions, and scalable implementation plans.
• Evolve and harden services to be more resilient, observable, and secure for AI-augmented workflows.
• Design and deliver platform features, services, and REST APIs for global-scale collaboration.
• Operate in a fast-moving DevOps environment with end-to-end ownership from design to deployment and telemetry.
• Integrate cloud services into the Bentley Cloud Platform architecture for scale and reliability.
