Job summary

PlayOn is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build AI-powered, data-driven backend services and features for millions of fans. You will shape data models, expose APIs to applications and LLMs, and own end-to-end delivery from design to observability.

You’ll work with C#/.NET, Python, SQL, AWS, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL, designing robust schemas, driving performance, and implementing CI/CD with a collaborative, agile team. A BS in CS is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, backend web applications.
• Experience building production features backed by LLMs (RAG, semantic search, tool use).
• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake or similar).
• Strong expertise in C# .NET, Python, SQL, REST API design, and data modeling.
• Working knowledge of AWS for deploying and operating backend services.
• Experience building eval frameworks for AI systems (golden sets, LLM-as-judge).
• Solid PostgreSQL experience incl. schema design and query tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Git workflows.
• Able to work in an agile, collaborative team environment.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop modern backend services with C# .NET, Python, SQL, AWS, and Snowflake.
• Build LLM-powered features connecting to Postgres, Snowflake, and internal APIs.
• Model and evolve data schemas for traditional APIs and AI access patterns.
• Own features end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, observability, and ops.
• Plan migrations, platform upgrades, and modernization with minimal risk.
• Optimize PostgreSQL workloads and monitor performance trends.
• Define and maintain eval suites for production AI features wired into CI.
