Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) for MuleSoft platform engineering in Bellevue, WA. You will design, build, and ship integration platform capabilities and APIs at massive scale, spanning architecture, design, implementation, testing, and production operations in a hybrid model.

You will contribute to API lifecycle, multi-tenant SaaS backend services, and platform features while mentoring engineers and driving code quality with rigorous reviews and automated tests.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with distributed systems and large-scale SaaS platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Scala, Go, Node.js; Java strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform – Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, API Manager, Runtime Manager, MQ.
• Strong fundamentals in REST/SOAP/GraphQL API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with public cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid SQL and NoSQL database skills (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of security fundamentals: OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and triage skills.
• B.Tech / B.E. / M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow.
• Build scalable, performant backend services and APIs within a microservices-based, multi-tenant SaaS cloud environment.
• Contribute to MuleSoft platform features including integration flows, API lifecycle management, and runtime operations.
• Participate in architecture reviews and collaborate with senior engineers and architects to align designs with platform standards.
• Critically evaluate code for correctness, quality, security, and performance through rigorous code reviews.
• Develop test strategies and write unit, integration, and functional tests to drive code quality and automation coverage.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in real-time.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence.
