Job summary

BlackLine, a technology-driven finance automation company, seeks a senior software engineer to design and operate distributed systems at scale. You will build microservices, RESTful APIs, and backend services using .NET, Java, or Python, while ensuring performance and security.

You will mentor teammates and promote a culture of engineering excellence. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating across teams to deliver high-impact features and improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience designing and operating distributed systems or high-availability production systems.
• Experience designing and building microservices architectures, including RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages: .NET (C#), Java, or Python, with strong OO and functional programming principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver product features, while adhering to timelines, coding standards, requirements, and quality.
• Implement, refine, and enforce software development techniques to ensure features meet performance, security, and maintainability expectations.
• Maintain high standards of software quality and technical excellence within the team by writing clean, testable, secure code.
• Inspire a forward-thinking team of developers and advocate for a quality-first culture.
• Mentor and coach junior team members and guide them to solutions.
