Job summary

BlackLine is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines powering AI-driven accounting agents. You will lead scalable data infrastructure and collaborate across data science, security, and product teams to drive governance and reliability.

You’ll lead PySpark ETL pipelines, API integrations to client data sources, and deployment of ML models with robust testing, observability, and security practices. Hybrid work available in the US.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with programming in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, MLflow).
• Production pipelines for ML and LLM-based systems across cloud ecosystems (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, and agentic system runtime management.
• Strong CI/CD, IaC, and DevSecOps practices with automated testing, compliance, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead data pipeline development: Build and maintain PySpark ETL pipelines with high data quality and performance.
• Manage integrations: Connect to client data sources via APIs and tools like FiveTran, Plaid, and internal connectors.
• Ensure reliability: Monitor pipeline performance, automate testing, and validate data accuracy.
• Optimize for scale: Implement CDC mechanisms and indexing for large datasets.
• Collaborate: Work with data science, security, and product teams to set governance standards.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for ML/LLM deployments and prompt evaluation.
• Develop observability: logging, metering, and auditing for agent behavior and compliance.
