Job summary

DigitalOcean in Seattle is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the MARS team, building a production-grade platform for AI coding agents and agentic workflows at scale. You will design core components, integrate with OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and LangGraph, and own features end-to-end with strong emphasis on reliability.

You will work across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and emerging agentic AI tech, delivering secure environments and developer-friendly APIs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering on microservices and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with LLMs and agentic workloads at scale.
• Strong REST/gRPC APIs and proxy/router design.
• Kubernetes, Nomad, Redis/Etcd/Consul for real-time state.
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and telemetry pipelines.
• Developer-first mindset with API/SDK products for developers.
• Experience shipping in high-scale environments and security-conscious.
• Familiarity with LangGraph/OpenAI Agents SDK and HITL concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build the managed agent platform: core services for provisioning, executing, and monitoring AI agents.
• Develop agent framework integrations with OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and LangGraph.
• Design distributed systems for scalable agent sessions and event-driven workflows.
• Create secure execution environments with sandboxing and secrets management.
• Expose developer workflows via APIs, CLI, and SDKs for agent tooling.
• Improve observability with logs, metrics, traces and SLOs.
• Deliver features end-to-end from design through production rollout.
• Lead design reviews and address technical debt and risks.
