Metropolis Technologies in Seattle is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and build our AI agent swarm, orchestration pipelines, and developer tooling. You will solve complex distributed systems challenges at scale and construct low-latency agent orchestration frameworks enabling seamless deployments of autonomous workflows.

The role requires 6+ years of backend experience, strong proficiency in Python/Java/TypeScript, and hands-on work with LangGraph, MCP, and other AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience with distributed systems focus.
• 2+ years architecting and deploying agentic AI systems or AI platform tooling.
• Proficiency in Python or Java/TypeScript with async concurrency, API design, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade agentic platform infrastructure and orchestration pipelines.
• Architect high-throughput, low-latency LLM inference routing and caching strategies.
• Establish robust evaluation, tracing, and observability frameworks (LLMOps/AIOps).
• Build developer tooling, agent SDKs, and CI/CD automation for safe autonomous agents.
