The engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing AI capabilities within the firm, ensuring solutions are innovative, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This position also involves mentoring junior developers and contributing to the strategic direction of AI initiatives.
The Senior AI Software Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven systems, with a focus on large language models. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and deliver AI solutions that enhance business operations. The engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing AI capabilities within the firm, ensuring solutions are innovative, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This position also involves mentoring junior developers and contributing to the strategic direction of AI initiatives.
- Leads the development and integration of AI-driven applications and systems
- Research and evaluates AI technologies for potential implementation
- Designs and maintains policy and documentation for the AI Engineering team, and for AI systems and processes
- Clarifies design requirements for AI systems from the firm’s business owners
- Devises strategic plan for resolving issues while keeping the firm’s systems operational
- Educates professionals on responsibilities and provides guidance regarding effective resolution of issues
- Facilitates meetings to discuss project requirements
- Acts as the technical lead on larger IT projects
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on AI best practices
- Serves as the Secondary Support person for after-hours support, as needed
- Integrates AI functionalities into existing systems to enhance user experience
- Escalates critical issues to management and implements strategies for timely resolution
- Leads the follow-up from items stemming out of team meetings
- Provides Level IV support for specific applications as needed
- Develops and maintains best practices for AI development and deployment
- Conducts code reviews to ensure quality and security in AI applications
- Proactively monitors and supports existing AI applications and automations

- High School diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferred
- Four (4) or more years of experience with developing applications / automations using various technologies, required
- One (1) or more years of experience with cloud technologies, preferred
- Experience with REST APIs and other APIs, preferred
- Experience serving in a technical lead role on large IT projects, preferred
- Advanced experience with software development methodologies, preferred
- Experience with artificial intelligence / machine learning, preferred
- Experience in other development languages, preferred
- Microsoft developer certifications, preferred
- AI or machine learning certifications, preferred
- Front-end Development (React, AngularJS,.NET MVC, or similar)
- Backend Development (C#, NodeJS)
- Web Design (HTML, CSS, SASS)
- Database Server Experience (Azure SQL, Oracle, MySQL or similar)
- SQL Development Experience (Queries, Functions, Stored Procedures)
- NoSQL Experience (Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or similar)
- Cloud Technologies (Azure)
- Business Intelligence (ADF, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, or similar business intelligence technologies)
- Experience with the following products, preferred:
- Microsoft Azure
- Experience using source control (Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar)
- Microsoft Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code
- Microsoft Entity Framework
- HTTP Debug Tools

- Able to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $110,000 - $140,000
Maryland Range: $110,000 - $140,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $110,000 - $140,000
