Job summary

BDO in the United States is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of AI-driven systems focused on large language models. You will mentor junior developers, drive AI strategy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI initiatives with business goals.

The role includes leading, evaluating AI technologies, and maintaining robust documentation and policies for AI projects.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience developing applications/automation.
• Experience with cloud technologies is preferred.
• Experience with REST APIs and other APIs is preferred.
• Experience serving in a technical lead role on large IT projects is preferred.
• Advanced experience with software development methodologies and AI/ML is preferred.

Job Summary

The Senior AI Software Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven systems, with a focus on large language models. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and deliver AI solutions that enhance business operations. The engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing AI capabilities within the firm, ensuring solutions are innovative, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This position also involves mentoring junior developers and contributing to the strategic direction of AI initiatives.

Job Duties

• Research and evaluates AI technologies for potential implementation
• Designs and maintains policy and documentation for the AI Engineering team, and for AI systems and processes
• Clarifies design requirements for AI systems from the firm’s business owners
• Devises strategic plan for resolving issues while keeping the firm’s systems operational
• Educates professionals on responsibilities and provides guidance regarding effective resolution of issues
• Facilitates meetings to discuss project requirements
• Acts as the technical lead on larger IT projects
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on AI best practices

Experience

• Four (4) or more years of experience with developing applications / automations using various technologies, required
• One (1) or more years of experience with cloud technologies, preferred
• Experience with REST APIs and other APIs, preferred
• Experience serving in a technical lead role on large IT projects, preferred
• Advanced experience with software development methodologies, preferred
• Experience with artificial intelligence / machine learning, preferred
• Experience in other development languages, preferred

License/Certifications

• Microsoft developer certifications, preferred
• AI or machine learning certifications, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $110,000 - $140,000
Maryland Range: $110,000 - $140,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $110,000 - $140,000
