Job summary

F5 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Agentic AI Tools in San Jose to lead the development and deployment of autonomous AI agents and tools that ingest and analyze data from external and internal sources for threat research and security use cases.

You will work with Python, TypeScript, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, and ML frameworks to build scalable AI-driven research platforms and marketing assets, collaborating across engineering and threat research teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with agentic AI systems
• Strong expertise in Python and autonomous AI agents for research and security workflows
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, and LlamaIndex
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and NVIDIA model ecosystems
• Experience with RAG architectures, prompt engineering, tool calling, embeddings, vector databases and workflow design

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI agents that autonomously scrape, ingest, correlate, and analyze data for threat research
• Develop agents using Python/TypeScript (Go where relevant) with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, and LlamaIndex
• Integrate AI agents with F5 products like AI Security, BIG-IP, NGINX, Distributed Cloud
• Engineer AI-driven agents to detect and analyze emerging threats in AI and app security space
• Create AI-powered security tools, dashboards, demos, and customer-facing assets
• Collaborate with product management, architects, and threat research teams for scalable research workflows
• Develop pipelines for AI workload optimization, observability, testing, and automation
