Zusammenfassung

Principal Global Investors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Agent Enablement team. You will build internal platforms and tooling that empower Principal engineers to design, test, and deploy AI agents using Python, TypeScript, and AWS AgentCore.

You will design scalable architectures, mentor engineers, and collaborate with security and platform teams to deliver secure, production-ready solutions. Hybrid in-office work is offered in Des Moines, IA area.

Qualifikationen

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years with AWS services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, CloudWatch)
• 3+ years of CI/CD, IaC (e.g., AWS CDK), and automated testing/security scanning
• Ability to make well-reasoned design decisions and manage tradeoffs
• Experience mentoring other engineers and driving design collaboration
• Experience designing APIs and distributed systems with security and observability

• Own design and solution architecture for team projects across multiple systems and services
• Deliver software on time with strong design quality
• Build and operate the agent-builder platform and tooling (SDKs, templates, evaluation harnesses, guardrails) using Python, TypeScript, AWS
• Improve engineer experience with faster iterations and clearer patterns
• Contribute to enterprise-wide reuse through innersource and socialization of solutions
• Model secure coding practices and set direction for security controls
