Job summary

T-Rex Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 3 to support critical national security infrastructure at Ft. Meade, MD. You will work on a high-priority malware analysis modernization program, building scalable Java applications and REST services while mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly and a strong background in large-scale systems, Kubernetes, and messaging, with opportunities to develop new capabilities and modernize services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and 20 years of related experience or 25 years of related experience without a degree.
• Active TS/SCI w/ FSP required within 7 years.
• Experience designing large-scale, high-performance applications.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and message brokers (RabbitMQ).
• Experience with Java applications and REST services.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and perform code reviews.
• Strong debugging, testing, and code quality focus.
• Familiarity with Git, Atlassian tools, and IDEs (IntelliJ/Eclipse).
• Experience with Kotlin, Spring/Spring Boot, Python, Mongo, and NiFi.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale, high-performance Java applications and REST services.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Debug complex, system-wide issues and ensure high-quality, testable code.
• Contribute to malware analysis modernization and enrichment services.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, high-visibility program.
