Job summary

Condé Nast in New York, NY seeks a Senior Software Engineer 3 to lead the development of our marketing offer platform, scale it across brands, and design the payment and paywall architecture.

The role includes building user context services, ensuring data quality and privacy, mentoring peers, and collaborating with product, marketing ops, and data teams to align technical initiatives with business goals. This is a hybrid role with four days in the office.

Qualifications

• Master's in Computer Engineering or closely related field with 1 year of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience, or equivalent mix of education and work.
• 2 years with each: JavaScript/React/Node.js/GraphQL; MySQL; VS Code, GitHub, Jest, React Testing Library; AWS, Docker, Terraform, Datadog.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the marketing offer platform and scale across brands.
• Design and evolve payment and paywall architecture; support multiple payment options.
• Architect and maintain user context services handling behavioral data.
• Ensure data quality and privacy alignment.
• Mentor peers, drive code reviews, and build reusable frameworks.
• Collaborate with product, marketing ops, and data teams; contribute to roadmaps.

Senior Software Engineer 3 sought by Condé Nast in New York, New York.

Responsibilities

• Leading development of our marketing offer platform, scaling it across brands and enabling experimentation through configurable, user‑specific contextual logic.
• Designing and evolving our payment and paywall architecture.
• Implement support for diverse payment options and entitlement logic.
• Architecting and maintaining user context services that collect, evaluate, and expose rich behavioral data.
• Ensure data quality and alignment with privacy best practices.
• Driving technical excellence through design and code reviews, mentoring peers, developing reusable frameworks, and ensuring scalable and maintainable implementations.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across product, marketing ops, and data teams to align technical initiatives with business goals.
• Contribute to roadmaps, technical planning, and long-term strategy.

Requirements

Master’s in Computer Engineering, or closely related, and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in Software Engineering

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or closely related, and 5 years of post‑baccalaureate progressive experience in the field, or any qualifying combination of education, training, or experience.

Also requires 2 years of experience with each of the following:

• Languages/Frameworks: JavaScript (ES6+), React, Node.js, GraphQL
• Database Tools: MySQL
• Development / Testing Tools: VS Code, GitHub, Jest, React Testing Library
• Configuration/Management Tools: AWS (EKS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront), Docker, Terraform, Datadog

Salary: $190,000

This is a hybrid position with 4 days a week in the office required.
