Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software‑development practices.
• Familiarity with Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Position Overview

SteerBridge is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support the Modern Disability Claims modernization program in Vienna, VA. This role will contribute to the development of next‑generation claims analytics and operational software solutions supporting mission‑critical initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing modern full‑stack applications and working within collaborative engineering environments that leverage cloud technologies, AI/ML capabilities, and modern software‑development practices.

Required Qualifications

• Eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements. Candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret or Top Secret clearance also satisfies this requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
• Strong experience with React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software‑development practices
• Familiarity with Docker and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare, insurance, defense, or federal programs
• Experience working with AI/ML-enabled applications
• Cloud‑platform experience with AWS or Azure
• Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments
