Clera is hiring for a backend-focused role in a fintech setting. You'll own accounting integrations, build scalable services for financial workflows, and partner with diverse teams to deliver reliable money movement capabilities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production backend systems, cross-functional collaboration experience, and familiarity with Python, Go, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, or GCP.

About the Role

Join a fintech engineering team building and scaling financial products and backend platform capabilities. You will help deliver reliable accounting and financial workflows that support how businesses manage money.

What You'll Do

• Own accounting integration projects from problem definition and technical design through launch, iteration, and ongoing operation.
• Build reliable, scalable backend services for accounting and financial workflows, and support expansion into adjacent product areas.

• Learn customers' accounting and financial operations needs and apply that context to product and engineering decisions.
• Partner with Product, Design, Operations, Compliance, and external providers on complex initiatives.

• Raise engineering quality through clear communication, system design, code quality, and mentorship.

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 10 or more years of experience building production backend systems, APIs, services, or distributed systems.
• Strong product judgment, customer curiosity, and comfort working through ambiguity in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams, including external partners.
• Background in fintech, accounting, payroll, payments, banking, compliance-heavy products, or complex third-party integrations is valuable.
• Experience with Python, Go, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, or GCP is helpful, but an exact match is not required.
• End-to-end project ownership is valuable, as is deep expertise in complex systems.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is €70,000 to €95,000 annually.
