Job summary

Round-Peg Solutions (RPS) Limited is seeking a Senior GNC Software Engineer to develop real-time flight software for autonomous aircraft and aerospace vehicles. You will implement guidance, navigation, flight-control and autonomy algorithms within embedded systems and work closely with flight-test engineers to bring software from simulation to hardware.

Senior GNC Software Engineer | Autonomous Flight Systems

$160,000 – $240,000 + Pre-IPO Equity + Relocation Assistance + Outstanding Benefits

Are you a C++ Software Engineer who wants to develop software that actually flies? Have you worked on flight controls, autonomy, guidance or embedded software for dynamic systems? Engineers work in small, highly technical teams where software development, hardware integration and flight testing happen at pace, with genuine ownership over what gets built.

The Senior GNC Software Engineer will develop real-time flight software that enables autonomous vehicles to navigate, manoeuvre and respond to complex environments, working directly with GNC, autonomy and flight-test engineers.

As the Senior GNC Software Engineer your responsibilities will include

• Developing C++ flight software for autonomous aircraft, UAVs and advanced aerospace vehicles
• Implementing guidance, navigation, flight-control and autonomy algorithms into embedded software
• Building and optimising real-time software running on embedded processors and flight computers
• Integrating software with sensors, avionics, communications and vehicle control systems
• Taking software through simulation, SIL/HIL testing, hardware integration and flight trials

As the Senior GNC Software Engineer you will bring

• Strong C++ programming experience within embedded, real-time or performance‑critical systems
• Experience developing flight software, GNC, autonomy or control‑system software
• Understanding of control algorithms, vehicle dynamics or real‑time software architecture
• Familiarity with Linux, embedded systems or flight‑control frameworks
• Practical experience with software integration, debugging, simulation or hardware testing

Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, ROS2, UAVs, missiles or autonomous aircraft would be advantageous.

The Senior GNC Software Engineer will have direct influence over flight capability, with opportunities to solve challenging technical problems and see the results on real hardware.
