Senior Software Engineer | Hybrid | Up to $130,000

Note: this role is hybrid and based in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, or New York.

Are you a senior engineer who is tired of maintaining legacy systems and wants to build something new, properly funded, and AI-native from day one? We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team building greenfield products on the Microsoft stack, where AI sits at the core of the architecture rather than being bolted on later.

We're partnering with a well-established, well-resourced professional services organization in the legal sector that is making a serious, sustained investment in technology. This is not a pilot or a side project. There is real budget behind it, and the opportunity to shape the platform from the first line of code. You'll get the autonomy and ownership of a startup build, with the stability and backing of an established brand.

Key Responsibilities

Build

• Design and build greenfield, AI-native applications on the Microsoft stack, owning solutions from architecture through to production.
• Write production-grade, maintainable code, not proofs of concept, and set the engineering standards for new projects from the start.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the core of the products you build, so they are central to how the software works.

Shape

• Make key decisions on architecture, tooling, and technical approach, with genuine influence over how the platform is designed and where it goes next.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to translate real legal workflows and business problems into working technical solutions.
• Raise the bar for the wider engineering team through code quality, technical depth, and mentoring other engineers.

Grow

• Join at the ground floor of a heavily invested programme, with room to grow your scope as the platform scales.
• Stay close to where AI engineering is heading and bring new approaches into the work.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Required

• Senior-level software engineering experience, with a strong track record of designing, building, and shipping production systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with the Microsoft stack (C#/.NET, Azure).
• Practical experience building AI-powered or AI-native applications.
• Comfortable working independently on ambiguous problems and turning them into working solutions.
• Strong communicator, able to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Experience on greenfield or build-stage projects, comfortable without heavy process or established playbooks.
• Exposure to agentic frameworks, LLM-based platforms, or multi-agent orchestration.
• Experience in legal or professional services environments.
