Job summary

Central Payments in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions in a regulated fintech environment. You will collaborate with a talented team to drive secure, high-performing technology that powers payments.

You’ll contribute to architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and work across APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and modern stacks (C#, Java, React, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering in Agile environments.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise apps and APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD.
• Strong front-end and back-end development experience.
• Fintech or regulated industry experience is a plus.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications using modern technologies such as C#, Java, React, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL
• Build scalable APIs, integrations, and platform services that enhance product functionality and operational efficiency
• Contribute to software architecture, technical design decisions, and enterprise application development
• Collaborate with Product, PMO, Support, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business goals
• Lead code reviews and champion engineering best practices, secure coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor and support fellow engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing

What You Bring

• Strong proficiency in C#, Java, or other modern programming languages and frameworks
• Experience developing scalable enterprise applications, APIs, and integrations
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern development methodologies
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, source control, and deployment best practices
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers in a collaborative environment
• Familiarity with Agile development practices and iterative software delivery
• Understanding of payments, fintech, banking, or other regulated industries is a plus

• Fintech, payments, banking, or other regulated industry experience preferred
