Job summary

Axelon Services Corporation in Oshkosh, WI seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to drive portions of moderate-complexity projects onsite for an eight-month assignment. You will design, implement, and document real-time software in C/C++ and Matlab autogenerated, perform complex calculations, and collaborate with internal and supplier teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete projects or parts of projects of moderate complexity on time.
• May manage overall project schedule and budget.
• Perform complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks per standards.
• Prepare and deliver plans, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal and external disciplines and suppliers.
• Provide guidance to entry-level engineers on common projects.
• Research and update standard engineering methodologies and procedures.
• Conduct R&D on RTOS, Autosar, embedded systems, IoT, edge computing, and virtualization.
• Develop or integrate control strategies in virtual simulations or hardware-in-the-loop setups.
• Lead feasibility studies and project estimates; participate in proposals for funding.
• Mentor low-level engineers as needed.
• Design, implement, and document real-time embedded software in C/C++ and Matlab autogenerated.
• Follow software best practices: version control, change control, issue tracking.
• Adhere to a CMMI level 3 process.
• Travel to off-site locations as needed for tasks.
• Participate in project time estimation and technical proposals; other duties as assigned.

• May be responsible for overall project schedule and budget.
• Perform complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to company and industry standards.
• Prepare and deliver plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
• Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally and suppliers externally.
• Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers working on common projects.
• Research, create, and update standard engineering methodology and procedures.
• Conduct independent research and development on new technologies and establish requirements related to RTOS, Autosar, embedded systems, IoT, edge computing, and architecture virtualization.
• Carry out technical aspects of advanced vehicle system controls research and development using embedded software tools, version control, configuration management, verification and validation, DevOps, and CI/CD software.
• Work with internal and external project teams on advanced control development efforts independently with minimum supervision.
• Assist in developing or integrating control strategies and implement in a virtual simulation environment using modeling tools or hardware-in-the-loop simulators.
• Lead or direct feasibility studies and project estimates on proposed projects.
• Provide insight to engineering design teams and mentoring to low-level engineers as needed.
• Design, implement, and document real-time embedded software written in C/C++ and Matlab autogenerated.
• Support supervisor, engineers, and other departments to execute job assignments.
