Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in C#/.NET and Python; familiarity with other modern languages is a plus.
  • BS degree in Software Engineering, CS, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building production software and APIs; strong OOP and data structures knowledge.
  • Git experience and cloud platform familiarity (AWS/Azure) are preferred.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-paced, growing business developing advanced additive manufacturing technologies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building high-quality software, solving complex technical problems, and working across software and hardware systems

This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient, scalable applications that support our 3D printing platforms, data acquisition systems, and operational workflows. The successful candidate will contribute to both new feature development and the continuous improvement of existing software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications and services that support our 3D printing systems and business operations.
  • Concept to completion design and implementation of scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software for performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to develop integrated solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to software development best practices.
  • Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of APIs, backend services, databases, and user-facing applications.
  • Integrate custom software with third-party applications, APIs, and hardware systems.
  • Support data collection and processing systems used for monitoring and analyzing printer performance.
  • Participate in software architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
  • Stay current with emerging software development tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide regular progress updates and communicate technical challenges and solutions effectively.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of professional software engineering or software development experience.
  • Experience with C# (.NET) and/or Python preferred. Candidates with strong experience in other modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Go, Rust) and the ability to learn new technologies quickly are encouraged to apply.
  • BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining production software applications.
  • Understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
  • Experience working with relational databases and APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
  • Experience working with hardware-integrated software, industrial systems, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Exposure to data analytics, machine learning, or AI technologies is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
