Summit Staffing Partners, on behalf of a Downtown Manhattan client, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid role in NYC. You will contribute to new development, enhance existing applications, and work with business users across the organization to deliver robust tech solutions.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on OO programming with Python/Java, strong SQL skills, and the ability to own projects from design through deployment in a collaborative financial environment.

Qualifications

Overview

Our client is a long-standing, mid-sized Alternative Investment firm based in Downtown Manhattan. Their internal team is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join its growing technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong, hands-on engineer who wants to work in a sophisticated financial environment where technology has a direct impact on the business. The firm has built an established technology platform and is looking for someone who can immediately contribute to new development, enhance existing applications, and work closely with teams throughout the organization.

This is not a narrowly defined development role. The Senior Software Engineer will have the opportunity to work directly with business users, understand the problems they are trying to solve, design solutions, and take ownership of projects throughout the entire development lifecycle.

• Evaluate new technologies and development approaches that can improve applications, processes, and the firm's overall technology platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Strong hands-on software engineering and full-stack development experience
• Strong programming experience with Python, Java, or a similar object-oriented language
• Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases
• Solid understanding of application development, software design, testing, and the overall development lifecycle
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through challenging and complex technical problems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach combined with the ability to independently own projects and deliver results
