Senior Backend Engineer | Hedge Fund | New York| up to $320k TC

How often do you get a chance to join a major trading technology build before the foundations have even been laid?

I'm partnered with a leading multi-manager fund that's investing heavily in a new technology platform for its investment teams, and they're looking for a strong backend engineer to join at this exciting stage.

They're looking for a senior engineer who can operate at the intersection of software engineering and financial markets, taking complex requirements and turning them into robust, scalable systems.

You’ll have direct input into how the technology is built, working closely with highly technical stakeholders and getting involved across architecture, development and performance.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years' backend engineering experience
• Strong experience with Python, Java, C# or C++
• Experience building and designing backend systems from the ground up
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, messaging and APIs
• Experience with performance optimisation and scalability
• Experience across FICC / Fixed Income, Rates, FX, Credit, Commodities, derivatives, trading systems or market data
• Comfortable taking ownership from design through to production
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with technical stakeholders
