Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver high-performance software applications across the full stack in an Agile setting. You will collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and DevOps teams to meet mission-critical requirements.

You will build scalable backend services in Java/Python, craft modern interfaces with React, and drive CI/CD, testing, and performance optimization to deliver real-world impact.

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience across full development lifecycle
• Hands-on with Java, Python, React, and Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, containerization, and cloud technologies

The primary role of the Senior Software Engineer is to design, develop, and deliver high-performance, mission-critical software applications. You’ll collaborate closely with analysts, stakeholders, and DevOps teams to deliver software that drives real-world impact.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Minimum 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in application software development.
• Expert-level experience in software engineering across the full development lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Python, React, and Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, containerization, and cloud technologies
• An active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions

Salary Range

$195,000 – $222,000

Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity, as well as alignment with market data.
