Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design and development of complex systems, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across the team. This role offers opportunities to work on challenging projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The position requires cloud experience (Azure and AWS), expertise in data architecture, and GraphQL; you will contribute to architecture discussions and code reviews while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in software development; 3+ years as Software Engineer building complex, scalable systems.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, algorithms, and system architecture.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and drive consensus; experience with cloud tech and microservices.

As a Senior Software Engineer, this professional will lead the design and development of entire computer systems and application software. They will leverage their expertise to create scalable and robust solutions, mentor junior developers, and drive best practices across the development team. Must maintain all certifications as required by local professional associations.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Contribute to architectural discussions, make design decisions, and ensure that the overall software architecture aligns with business goals and industry best practices.
• Solve complex technical problems and make critical decisions related to technology selection, system architecture, and project planning.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior members of the development team.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
• Strong Cloud Experience (Azure & AWS)
• Experience with AI agent code development and integration into products
• Data system design and Architecture experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, and 3+ years as a Software Engineer with a focus on designing and building complex, scalable systems.
