Description of Task to be Performed:

Come join our growing team and make a difference every day! AnaVation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in API development, security, and standardization. This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and governing APIs that power enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong software engineering expertise, proven cross-functional leadership skills, a passion for establishing scalable and secure API standards across diverse teams, and experience working within Agile processes using the SAFe framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, deploying, and maintaining mission-critical enterprise applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Building and optimizing front-end applications delivering responsive and user-friendly interfaces tailored to business needs.
• Managing version control, development workflows, and CI/CD pipelines using Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira to enable rapid, dependable deployments.
• Applying Agile development principles within the SAFe framework, engaging in iterative development cycles, backlog prioritization, and adaptive planning.
• Conducting rigorous unit testing, integration testing, and automated deployment processes to ensure application quality, reliability, and security compliance.
• Performing ongoing application maintenance, including monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and implementing patches and security updates.
• Developing and maintaining databases within an application environment, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval for large-scale applications.
• Designing, customizing, and optimizing software solutions to enhance operational efficiency, integrating third-party components and automating maintenance tasks.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, participate in architecture reviews, and deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

This position is mostly remote but may potentially require occasional trips to our customer location in Clarksburg, WV. Remote status is expected to continue but is subject to change according to the direction of the customer.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, preferred. In lieu of degree, minimum of 9 years relevant experience required.
• Experience: 8 years.
• Required Skills/Certs:
• 8 years of experience in software development with a strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms, with proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.
• 5 years of experience designing, developing, and standardizing APIs, with a focus on RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL API architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of API security principles (e.g., OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect) and industry standards for secure API development and governance.
• Experience with API management tools such as AWS API Gateway, including the ability to define and enforce API standards for large-scale enterprise systems.
• 2 years of experience in leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders, and driving the adoption of API standards across diverse teams and systems in a large organization.
• Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
• Required Clearance: This position requires an active Secret clearance.
