Job Summary

Join our dynamic radar defense company as a Senior Software Engineer where you'll drive technical excellence and help shape the architecture of mission-critical systems. We're seeking an experienced engineer who can translate complex requirements into elegant, secure solutions while mentoring fellow developers. In this role, you'll make key architectural decisions, champion best practices, and ensure the integrity of our software supply chain, all while embracing our collaborative, ego-free culture that values results over hierarchy.

Job Responsibilities

* Be Involved with the design, development, analysis, testing and debugging of computer software applications and/or systems.
* Be ready to learn about Image and Signal Processing, Real-time, Firmware, Database Design, Operating Systems, and more.
* Take ownership of the outcome and the journey there: budget, costs, estimated schedules, leadership.
* Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
* Be a team player and provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers, support personnel, and teach others on the team.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
* Fluency in c or rust.
* Experience or be willing to learn: NATS, Protobuf, Linux, React, Node, and more.
* Ability to lead a technical group independently.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The expected pay scale for this position is $104,274.00/year - $161,884/year.Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
