Job summary

Kingland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Fort Myers team. You will apply Go, Java, and C# to build scalable enterprise software with Vertx/Vue interfaces, PostgreSQL backends, and AWS deployments.

You will lead and mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive architectural decisions while delivering secure and high-performance code in an Agile setting. A strong focus on clean code and DevSecOps is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE or CE required.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary engineering expert on the project and mentor teammates.
• Collaborate with architects to design scalable software following industry standards.
• Develop secure, performant, and maintainable code for Kingland Platform solutions.

Position Summary

Senior Software Engineer
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to apply familiar technologies such as Go, JavaScript, Vue, Postgres, and AWS to solve novel problems. You’ll be responsible for working with other engineers as a leader to establish coding principles and design patterns that stand the test of time. You’ll also work with product and engagement teams to understand the problem your team is solving and constantly test and validate your team’s work against the problem statement. Your engineering team’s output will then be used in downstream products to ensure our customers’ success!

Responsibilities and Duties

| Senior Software Engineer

• Serve as a primary engineering expertise on the project, providing guidance on engineering principles and mentoring other engineers on the team
• Work with Architects to create designs that follow industry standard software design patterns and best practices
• Develop highly secure, performant and maintainable code based on software designs for Kingland Platform solutions
• Actively participate in an Agile development process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, delivering working software in short iterations, and adapting to changing requirements through frequent feedback loops, all while utilizing Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban to ensure efficient project delivery
• Continually improve engineering principles to ensure the engineering team delivers with quality and velocity
• Leverage automated build and deploy processes to create and execute integration tests
• Identify, fix and communicate defects throughout the software engineering process
• Collaborate with teammates and clients, from requirements review and design to implementation, testing, deployment and triage
• Assist with onboarding new engineers and maintaining engineering routines within the team

Position Requirements

| Senior Software Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree and requisite experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering is required
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in Cloud-based infrastructures
• Enterprise software development using Go, Java, C# or other backend programming languages
• Frontend Web Application development using Vue, Angular, React or other JavaScript frameworks
• Database development and maintenance using SQL on Postgres or other similar relational databases
• Knowledge of key engineering principles such as clean code, api-first development, and devsecops
• Strong organization and leadership skills
