Job summary

Kingland Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Ames/IA and other US offices. You will contribute to enterprise-grade software solutions, partner with architects, and deliver secure, scalable backend systems using Go, Java, or C#.

You will work in an Agile environment, mentoring engineers and driving best practices across the Kingland Platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience in enterprise software development using Go, Java, C# or similar backend languages.
• Database development and maintenance with SQL on Postgres or similar relational DBs.
• Knowledge of clean code, API-first development, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary engineering expert on the project and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with Architects to design patterns and best practices.
• Develop secure, performant, and maintainable code for Kingland Platform solutions.
• Participate in Agile processes with cross-functional teams and iterative delivery.
• Improve engineering principles to enhance quality and velocity.
• Leverage automated build/deploy, and run integration tests.
• Identify and fix defects throughout the software lifecycle.
• Collaborate with teammates and clients from requirements to deployment and triage.
• Assist with onboarding new engineers and maintain engineering routines.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES |Senior Software Engineer

• Serve as a primary engineering expertise on the project, providing guidance on engineering principles and mentoring other engineers on the team
• Work with Architects to create designs that follow industry standard software design patterns and best practices
• Develop highly secure, performant and maintainable code based on software designs for Kingland Platform solutions
• Actively participate in an Agile development process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, delivering working software in short iterations, and adapting to changing requirements through frequent feedback loops, all while utilizing Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban to ensure efficient project delivery
• Continually improve engineering principles to ensure the engineering team delivers with quality and velocity
• Leverage automated build and deploy processes to create and execute integration tests
• Identify, fix and communicate defects throughout the software engineering process
• Collaborate with teammates and clients, from requirements review and design to implementation, testing, deployment and triage
• Assist with onboarding new engineers and maintaining engineering routines within the team

POSITION REQUIREMENTS |Senior Software Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree and requisite experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering is required
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in Cloud-based infrastructures
• Enterprise software development using Go, Java, C# or other backend programming languages
• Database development and maintenance using SQL on Postgres or other similar relational databases
• Knowledge of key engineering principles such as clean code, api-first development, and devsecops
• Strong organization and leadership skills
