Job summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a position located in Melbourne, Florida. The role involves shaping the software development strategy and the Software Development Plan, applying expertise in business/mission systems to software engineering, software security, and cyber (IA) security.

The candidate will review requirements, design, develop, integrate, and field IFCs while aligning with DoD and Air Force processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of DoD experience with an ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• At least 5 years in a DoD ACAT I (or equivalent) SAP program office.
• Two years of DoD SAP engineering experience prior to employment.
• Knowledge of software engineering across design, development, test & evaluation, maintenance, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Review and develop program software engineering requirements.
• Design, develop, integrate, and field Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs).
• Support development and review of DoDI 5000.02 documentation and products.
• Assist with Air Force integrity processes per MIL-HDBK-516 and LCSE/OSS&E.
• Support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
• Support review and evaluation of weapon system design and verification reports.
• Gather data to build and present program briefs.
• Support program meetings and technical reviews as needed.

Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support a position located at Melbourne, Florida. This individual will support the development of the software development strategy and Software Development Plan, applying their understanding of business/mission systems that support Program Office capabilities to as they relate to software engineering, software security, and cyber (IA) security.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Review/develop/update applicable program documentation for software engineering relevant requirements.
• Support the tasks required to design, develop, integrate, and field Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs).
• Support development and review of the full range of documentation and products required by DoDI 5000.02.
• Assist with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL-HDBK-516 and the AF Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes as prescribed by AFMCI 63-1201.
• Support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
• Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
• Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs.
• Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant DoD experience and an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Five (5) of these years must be in a DoD acquisition program as either a sub-system or system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I (or equivalent) special access program office.
• Two (2) years of DoD SAP engineering experience prior to selection for employment under this contract.
• Knowledge of software engineering in support of the design, development, Test and Evaluation (T&E), implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems.
