Job Description

Come join our growing team and make a difference every day! AnaVation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in API development, security, and standardization. This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and governing APIs that power enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong software engineering expertise, proven cross-functional leadership skills, a passion for establishing scalable and secure API standards across diverse teams, and experience working within Agile processes using the SAFe framework.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical enterprise applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
2. Build and optimize front-end applications delivering responsive and user-friendly interfaces tailored to business needs.
3. Manage version control, development workflows, and CI/CD pipelines using Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira to enable rapid, dependable deployments.
4. Apply Agile development principles within the SAFe framework, engaging in iterative development cycles, backlog prioritization, and adaptive planning.
5. Conduct rigorous unit testing, integration testing, and automated deployment processes to ensure application quality, reliability, and security compliance.
6. Perform ongoing application maintenance, including monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and implementing patches and security updates.
7. Develop and maintain databases within an application environment, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval for large-scale applications.
8. Design, customize, and optimize software solutions to enhance operational efficiency, integrating third-party components and automating maintenance tasks.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, participate in architecture reviews, and deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; in lieu of degree, minimum of 9 years relevant experience.
2. 8 years of experience in software development with a strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms, proficiency in Java, Python, or Golang.
3. 5 years designing, developing, and standardizing APIs, focusing on RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL architectures.
4. In-depth knowledge of API security principles (OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect) and standards for secure API development and governance.
5. Experience with API management tools such as AWS API Gateway, including defining and enforcing API standards for large-scale enterprise systems.
6. 2 years leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving API standards adoption across diverse teams.
7. Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
8. This position requires an active Secret clearance.

Additional Information

This position is mostly remote but may require occasional trips to our customer location in Clarksburg, WV. Remote status is expected to continue but is subject to change.
