Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Clarksburg, WV to lead development of a petabyte-scale multimedia analysis platform. You will apply agile processes, mentor a team, and deliver features across the full software stack.

This role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance, 10+ years in software development, and strong Java and front-end skills. You will ensure integration across MXU systems and maintain deployments.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, including multimedia processing, analysis, and data management.
• Direct and recent experience building a petabyte-scale multimedia analysis platform.
• Experience developing and maintaining applications that handle petabyte-scale data and high-throughput processing.
• Proficiency in Java and front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Vue.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team, including setting goals, assigning tasks, and driving projects to completion.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
• Experience with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, ensuring tools are accessible and efficient for end users.
• Relevant certifications in technical architecture or software engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform system engineering and develop the multimedia review tool using agile methodology to integrate bug fixes, security enhancements, and new capabilities.
• Act as a subject matter expert for all portions of the multimedia review tool code base and lead a team of developers to implement new features and resolve software issues.
• Deliver multimedia review tool builds using agile processes, providing incremental builds based on agreed-upon MXU requirements.
• Develop and enhance the multimedia review tool to visually display, correlate, and report multimedia data based on metadata and analytic results.
• Integrate the ingestion workflow with other MXU systems to seamlessly transfer data and processing results between systems that may be geographically separated with limited bandwidth.
• Integrate MXU analytics to enable users to view images quickly and intuitively.
• Perform system engineering and system administration to deploy the multimedia review tool to all MXU-designated development and operational environments.
• Maintain multimedia review tool deployments across various infrastructures, ensuring the tool remains consistent with all policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Provide level-of-effort and timing estimates during planning sessions.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00/Yr. - USD $125,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
